An avid gardener, former scientist and dancer, and avowed history geek, Allison Thurston has been teaching, training and coaching riding for over 30 years.
With an extensive background in French and Portuguese schools of dressage, Centered Riding, TTeam techniques, anatomy and body work studies, Allie conducts workshops, riding clinics, instructor clinics, lectures and lessons. She has been an international riding instructor in nearly every discipline ranging from pony club to FEI.
Certified at the advanced level by the American Riding Instructors Association (ARIA) since 1995 in both Eventing and Dressage, she was honored with their “Instructor of Distinction Award”.
She holds Level II certification (through Preliminary level) from the U.S Eventing Association’s Instructor Certification Program and has had a long time associtation with the US Pony Club.
Featured in magazines and television, she possesses an outstanding technical knowledge of correct body mechanics of both horse and rider, and strives for a positive partership with comfort and soundness as its a foundation.
As a lecturer and convention speaker, Allie’s witty and entertaining talks are inspired and inspiring.
